El nostre concepte de viatge es basa en conèixer els llocs des de l'adaptació a la vida i els costums de cada lloc. Des del respecte i l'intercanvi. Per a nosaltres és important el mal que ha causat (i segueix causant) el colonialisme blanc i la cooperació internacional al país i al continent sencer. Fa segles que cometem errors com la romantització de la pobresa, el reforç d'estereotips, la proposta de “solucions” sense escoltar la població local, etc. Gràcies a la Teranga (hospitalitat en wolof), vaig tenir l'oportunitat de conviure amb la família Mbaye participant amb ells en totes les activitats del dia a dia, per entendre i comprendre millor els seus hàbits, costums i estil de vida.

Para nosotrxs es importante el daño que ha causado (y sigue causando) el colonialismo blanco y la cooperación internacional al país y al continente entero. Llevamos siglos cometiendo errores como la romantización de la pobreza, el refuerzo de estereotipos, la propuesta de “soluciones” sin escuchar a la población local, etc. Gracias a la “Teranga” (hospitalidad en wolof), tuve la oportunidad de convivir con la familia Mbaye participando con ellxs en todas las actividades del día a día, para entender y comprender mejor sus hábitos, costumbres y estilo de vida.
Our concept of travel is based on getting to know places through adapting to the life and customs of each location with respect and exchange. For us, it is important to acknowledge the harm caused (and still causing) by white colonialism and international cooperation to the country and the entire continent. For centuries, we have been making mistakes such as romanticizing poverty, reinforcing stereotypes, proposing "solutions" without listening to the local population, etc. Thanks to "Teranga" (hospitality in Wolof), I had the opportunity to live with the Mbaye family, participating with them in all the day-to-day activities, to better understand and comprehend their habits, customs, and way of life.
